Join our Team as an Allied Health Assistant

This role is designed for students in OT degrees who want to gain hands-on experience while building real-world clinical and admin skills.

At QVARI, you’ll:

  • Work flexibly around your study, exams, and placements - no penalties for prioritising uni.

  • Be part of a supportive, high-performing team that values innovation and initiative.

  • Receive ongoing supervision and mentoring from experienced occupational therapists.

  • Get opportunities to develop professionally and even transition into a future therapist role.

About the Role

You’ll work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, supporting clients and the clinical team in both hands-on and behind-the-scenes ways.

Every day looks a bit different - one day you might be helping a client with emotional regulation and the next you’re researching adaptive equipment or updating progress notes.

This role blends clinical support, project work, and administrative tasks - ideal for students who love learning, are detail-oriented, and want to make a real impact.

What You’ll Do

Clinical Support

  • Help deliver therapy programs designed by a supervising OT.

  • Support clients via face-to-face, phone, or telehealth sessions.

  • Set up and monitor home-based programs or assistive technology.

  • Observe and record client progress using provided templates.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Administrative Support

  • Research equipment and assistive technologies.

  • Draft and prepare simple reports or progress summaries.

  • Coordinate appointments, follow up with clients, and update files.

  • Support the development of internal resources and systems.

Innovation & Growth

  • Contribute creative ideas to improve services and systems.

  • Take part in QVARI’s in-house training and reflective supervision.

  • Embrace the QVARI Way - doing things differently, with purpose and care.

I have had a very positive experience working as an Allied Health Assistant at QVARI, where I have felt well supported by both the team and management. This role has provided me with the opportunity to develop strong practical skills while working closely with experienced occupational therapists in a collaborative environment. The inclusive workplace culture has helped me grow both professionally and personally, strengthening my communication skills, confidence, and understanding of client-centred care. I would highly recommend this AHA role to others as it provides valuable hands-on experience within a supportive and encouraging workplace.
